Q&A

Why are surveys conducted and how are the results used?

Surveys are an important feedback mechanism, especially in areas where the university has limited insight. Typically, surveys collect information that cannot be obtained from the university's internal systems, making it necessary to directly ask relevant individuals. The results provide the university with feedback on key activities, particularly in education and student facilities. This feedback brings up-to-date insights that the institution must address. Survey results are also viewed from a long-term perspective—whether the university maintains its standards or successfully improves in the monitored areas. Lastly, survey results contribute to the evaluation of study programs, where the program guarantor reviews and comments on them.

Does the questionnaire contain mandatory questions?

The university-wide surveys contain only optional questions to avoid unnecessary barriers in collecting feedback. Respondents can choose what to answer.

Do faculties participate in the creation of the questionnaire?

Faculties can provide feedback on the surveys and may include faculty-specific sections with tailored questions.

Are the surveys conducted across the whole cohort of early-leaving students?

Surveys among students who have left their studies early are conducted on a cohort-wide basis but only if they have not recently been invited to participate in another survey.

What should I do if I encounter a technical problem when filling out the questionnaire?

If you encounter an error in the survey, email us at dotaznik@ruk.cuni.cz and we will address the issue.

The dropdown menu doesn't include my study program, who should I contact?

Before the surveys are launched, we check the dropdown menus, but with the number of study programs at the university, some may be missed. Email us at dotaznik@ruk.cuni.cz and we will investigate the issue.

I left multiple study programs in one year. Will I receive two questionnaires?

If you left multiple programs in the same academic year, we will send you only one questionnaire. This limitation is designed to prevent overburdening respondents with multiple surveys. It is up to the respondent which program they choose to provide feedback on. However, if you wish to provide feedback on all programs you left, you can contact us at dotaznik@ruk.cuni.cz, and we will arrange the possibility of completing an additional questionnaire.

Is my feedback being directed to relevant places?

Feedback is provided to the university leadership and faculties through the Rector's Collegium and Extended Rector's Collegium. It is also distributed via a working group of over 60 people across the university. All employees can view the results in a PowerBI report with advanced filtering options.

Can I opt out of participating in the survey?

We appreciate any feedback, but if you receive a request to complete a survey that you do not wish to participate in, please contact us at dotaznik@ruk.cuni.cz and we will remove you from the recipient list to ensure you no longer receive notifications about the survey.
