ABOUT SURVEYS

Surveys among Charles University graduates are conducted annually in the summer months (June-July), specifically for cohorts of graduates one and five years after graduation. The questions focus on overall study evaluation, teaching methods, competency development, knowledge and skills, and their relevance to the job market, graduate mobility, and transition to employment.

The survey results are shared with the university leadership and faculties (Rector’s Collegium, Extended Rector’s Collegium) and also via a working group for university-wide surveys. The results are available in PowerBI dashboard with extensive filtering options for a more detailed analysis. A public version of the results is available here (only in Czech).

Addressing graduates is not universal but is done by selection. This is primarily to avoid unnecessarily burdening individuals with various surveys. Graduates are selected based on their graduation date: For example, in 2023, data collection was conducted among graduates one year after graduation, who graduated in the academic year 2021/2022. They graduated between October 1, 2021, and September 30, 2022. Similarly, graduates five years after graduation were selected (those who graduated in the academic year 2017/2018). However, for the five-year survey, all master's graduates are included, while only bachelor’s graduates who have not continued their studies or completed further studies at the university are selected. The limitation is in place to prevent unnecessary burdening of respondents.

The dataset contains 17,383 responses from graduates.
